Hello, I’m Ben.
I’m the owner of Primary DJ. Growing up in a house of music lovers, I was exposed to a variety of tunes from an early age. Trips to JB-HiFi with Dad and picking out CDs became a weekly ritual.
I have been DJing for over 22 years, starting in the backyard of a mates house, graduating to my first paid 18th birthday before branching out to all events. This passion led me to me building up Primary DJ and am now privileged to be a full time DJ/MC.
In 2023 I clocked up my 1000th wedding around the Melbourne area. Weddings are the best! Everyone is up for a party which means hiring the right DJ with heaps of experience is so important.
I come from a teaching background which has grounded me with excellent communication skills as well as learning how to work with a group of differing personalities all in one place… it has also given me a love of DJing school discos! As much as I love weddings (which is a lot), there is something about getting to rev up kids for a couple of hours that is ultra enjoyable!
As an open format DJ, I love playing a mix of music at every event. Think of your party like a best of, a mix of all eras and genres that will get your guests up and dancing.
No event is the same for me. By listening to what you want played, it ensures a unique dance floor that is tailored to you.

Yunus
A young gun, Yunus has been plying his trade for over 5 years. After recently completing his 50th wedding for Primary DJ, he is well equipped to make your special day one to remember.
He has also worked all over Melbourne at events ranging from engagement parties to primary school discos. He is passionate about music and ensures he is up to date with all the new trends and tunes to make sure every dance floor is memorable. Yunus is enthusiastic and polite which would make him a great addition to any celebration.
Damo
Damo is an engaging DJ creating the perfect vibe for you and your guests to get down on the dance floor. Whether it’s a wedding or a party, Damo will have everyone up and about!
Providing a safe and liberating environment for the crowd there is no need to worry about a thing when you have him behind the decks.
Lauren & Devin
A team who has been DJing for 5 years. They have DJ’d at all types of events including weddings, engagements, Christmas parties and hens parties to name a few.
They’ve performed all over Melbourne; from the Mornington Peninsula to Werribee. They will ensure a fun and relaxing atmosphere. The love to make playlists in their spare time so know that he will curate an amazing mix of songs for your celebration.
Johnny
Johnny, a Southern Californian native, has been DJing since 2001 on 2 turntables. By 2004 he landed his first residency at one of Hollywood’s most infamous after hours clubs. Playing all around So Cal at many clubs, raves and private events are some of his fondest memories.
He is passionate about music and taking a dance floor on a journey. He loves EDM and hiphop, but enjoys playing any genre including disco, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, top 40, funk, soul, breakbeats, house, techno, rnb and trance. He’s successfully catered to many birthday parties of all ages, engagements and weddings.
Gerry
Gerry is an enthusiastic, & vibrant DJ who’s full of energy. She loves nothing more than mixing your favourite requests with the top hits from the last 50 years.
Whether she’s entertaining a wedding of 200+, or putting together a party set for an intimate party, Gerry feels right at home in any environment.
Jake
An up and comer in the business, Jake has already DJ’d at over 100 functions. With a passion to ensure seamless mixing, he is a great addition to any party.
Jake has a passion for all types of music and loves to keep up to date with the latest hits, making him amazing for any celebration.
Paul
Our Surf Coast specialist. For over 10 years, he has carved out an impressive CV performing at weddings from Geelong to Lorne.
Paul loves to jump on the decks and is always ready to entertain for all crowds and events.
